Our Next Meeting

Thurs 12th Feb at 7.30pm. The Hedgehoggery team will be joining us to talk about all things hedgehog.

Join us for what promises to be a fascinating talk from Tim, one of the team at our local hedgehog rescue service based in Shipley – The Hedgehooggery.

Sadly hedgehog populations in the UK have been in decline since the 1950s and our endemic hedgehog, Erinaceous Europaeus, is now on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List.

Come along to find out all about the lives of hedgehogs and why the UK population has declined.

We will also learn about the National Hedgehog Conservation Strategy launched in 2024 and how this is being taken forward into action.

Importantly, we will also be given tips on ways we can improve our gardens to be more hedgehog friendly and discover what to do if we find an injured hedgehog.

If you want a sneak preview, take a look at this short, award-winning film produced by the British Hedgehog Preservation Society. https://www.britishhedgehogs.org.uk/hedgehog-close-film

There will be the usual refreshments of tea, coffee and wine, plus home baked cakes.

We will also be collecting donations of non-perishable food items for Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank. All contributions appreciated.

Members, guests and newcomers are all welcome.

We do hope you can join us
